Thesportsprofessor writes, "Hello Moms and Dads and Children of all ages! Everyone needs a Hobby and Collecting Sports Cards is one the entire family will enjoy. You can collect Baseball Cards, Basketball Cards, Football Cards, Racing Cards and many more." First I would select one Sport that appeals to you the most. Second, I would select a favorite player or two that you would like to collect. And Third, I would set up a certain amount to Spend on a weekly Basis (and Stick to it).
Several Companies are available to choose From. Topps and Upper Deck are well established and many others are good as well. Start by puchasing individual packs until you decide the products (cards) that you like best. When opening your packs be very careful. Do not bend or abuse your cards in any manner. Quality Cards with careful handling will last a long time. Store them in sleeves, holders, pages, and binders. Never use rubber bands to keep them together.
Families should plan a spcecial time for all family members to open and review their cards.
All cards have values. Some more than others. Price guides can be purchased from Card Shops or at retail stores. Beckett and Sports Cards Collectors seem to be the preferred Guides. Most important to realize is that the price value of any card is the amount that a buyer is willing to pay for it..
There is much more to learn about this great hobby of Sports Cards Collecting and I will continue updating your information with several more articles. My next writing will be dedicated to several of the best players from each sport that might be the card(s) to add to your collection. Until then please remember that "Everyday is a reat Day for Sports". Good Luck, Happing Collecting and may God Bless.
